Parliament clash over Dennis Aboagye detention as Majority defends Attorney General

The Majority Chief Whip, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has dismissed the Minority's call for the Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, to appear before Parliament over the arrest and detention of Dennis Miracles Aboagye by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
The Minority had demanded that Dr. Ayine brief lawmakers on the circumstances surrounding the arrest, describing the detention as a possible violation of Mr. Aboagye's fundamental human rights.
However, Mr. Dafeamekpor rejected the call, arguing that there is no basis for summoning the Attorney General before the House on the matter.
The development has sparked further debate in Parliament over due process, human rights, and the handling of investigations involving political figures.
