Nearly 48 hours after his arrest by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Dennis Miracles Aboagye remains in custody over an alleged GH¢55 million fraud linked to the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD).

EOCO says Mr. Aboagye, the committee's former accountant, and others are under investigation for alleged financial and procurement irregularities following a petition and forensic audit into the operations of the secretariat.

Meanwhile, the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is challenging EOCO to prosecute Dennis Miracles Aboagye if it has sufficient evidence, as party supporters continue to mass outside EOCO headquarters demanding his release.
