Police reject alleged GH¢300,000 bribe after major cannabis bust in Bole

The Bole District Police Command has intercepted 73 parcels of a substance suspected to be cannabis during a routine highway operation along the Banda Nkwanta–Teslima Road in the Savannah Region.
The suspected narcotics were discovered in a Techiman-to-Wa bound commercial vehicle after officers became suspicious of inconsistencies surrounding the luggage on board. A subsequent search led to the recovery of the concealed parcels.
The vehicle's driver and a woman who allegedly claimed ownership of the consignment were arrested to assist with investigations.
According to sources familiar with the investigation, the suspects allegedly attempted to offer police officers GH¢300,000 to secure their release. The officers reportedly rejected the alleged bribe and proceeded with the arrests in line with police procedures.
The suspected substance will undergo forensic analysis, while investigations continue. The suspects are expected to be arraigned before court upon completion of investigations.
