Former Director-General of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), Prof. Edward Appiah, is calling for the decolonisation of Ghana's curriculum, arguing that the country's education system must be redesigned to produce globally competitive graduates.

Speaking at a graduation ceremony of Abofra World School in Kumasi, Prof. Appiah said meaningful curriculum reform should reconnect knowledge with Ghana's local context while strengthening the relationship between schools and the communities they serve.

He stressed that Ghana's education system must move beyond inherited structures and focus on developing learners with the skills, knowledge, and critical thinking needed to compete internationally.

According to him, a restructured curriculum will help restore coherence in education and ensure learning is relevant to Ghana's development needs.
