Dagbon is in mourning following the passing of Yaa Naa Mahama Abukari II, who died and was laid to rest the same day in accordance with Dagbon customs and traditions.
Speaking to Channel One News, Abdulai Alidu described the late Yaa Naa as a unifying leader whose reign was marked by peace, stability, and reconciliation across the kingdom.
He announced that the third-day funeral rites, known as Adua, will be observed on Thursday, July 16, and appealed to the public and security agencies to support the traditional processes as sub-chiefs and mourners gather to honour the late Overlord.
