Doctors Raise Alarm Over Rising Type 2 Diabetes Cases Among Children in Ghana

A recent study by doctors at KATH shows that Type 2 diabetes, once considered rare in children, now accounts for about 15% of childhood diabetes cases in Ghana, up from an estimated 5%. Medical experts attribute the rise to unhealthy diets, sedentary lifeclasss, and delayed diagnosis, warning that the trend could have serious long-term consequences if not addressed through early detection, healthier lifeclasss, and greater public awareness.
