US flooding emergency continues as rivers rise after storms batter Ozarks
Parts of the United States are facing a prolonged flooding emergency after a slow-moving storm system unleashed torrential rain across the Ozarks region. The weather system pulled warm, moist air north from the Gulf of Mexico, colliding with an unstable atmosphere and producing severe thunderstorms, flash floods and isolated tornadoes.
