Seven people have been arrested in the Central Region for allegedly flouting guidelines during the ongoing National Clean-Up Exercise.

Authorities say the arrests form part of efforts to enforce sanitation regulations and ensure residents, businesses, and institutions comply with directives aimed at improving environmental cleanliness.

The exercise has seen nationwide participation as communities work to clear waste, clean public spaces, and reduce the risk of flooding following recent heavy rains.

Officials have stressed that enforcement measures will continue to ensure the gains from the exercise are sustained beyond the two-day clean-up.
