Move Sanitation Day to Fridays — Kumasi Mayor explains why

The Mayor of Kumasi, Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, is calling for the National Sanitation Day exercise to be moved from the first Saturday to the first Friday of every month.

According to the Mayor, participation from organisations, companies, and institutions is significantly higher when sanitation exercises are held on Fridays compared to Saturdays.

Speaking during the National Clean-Up Exercise in Kumasi, Mr. Boadi explained that mobilising residents is often difficult on Saturdays because it is not a regular working day.

He believes shifting the exercise to Fridays will make it easier for institutions and employers to involve their workforce and help Ghana achieve its sanitation goals.
