Sanitation Crackdown: MMDAs urged to seize items of traders who flout directives

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, is urging Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to take stricter action against traders who fail to comply with sanitation directives.

Speaking during the ongoing National Clean-Up Exercise, the Minister called on assemblies to confiscate items belonging to traders who disregard sanitation regulations and refuse to keep their surroundings clean.

She stressed that enforcement is necessary to sustain the gains made from the exercise and ensure that individuals and businesses take responsibility for maintaining a clean environment.

The directive forms part of efforts to strengthen sanitation compliance and reduce flooding risks across communities.
