Anloga flooding caused by overflowing water bodies, not sanitation — DCE

The District Chief Executive for Anloga, Sandra Kpedor, says the persistent flooding in the district is largely caused by overflowing water bodies rather than poor sanitation.

Speaking to Channel One News after a clean-up exercise in Anloga, Madam Kpedor disclosed that more than 6,000 households have so far been affected by the flooding.

She explained that while the district continues to address sanitation challenges, the current flooding situation cannot be directly attributed to blocked drains or waste accumulation.

According to the DCE, the Assembly has constructed canals to help channel excess floodwaters back into nearby lagoons and eventually into the sea as part of measures to reduce water levels in affected communities.
