DBG launches Women’s Lending Programme to support women-owned businesses

The Development Bank Ghana (DBG) has launched its Women's Lending Programme, a flagship initiative aimed at removing barriers that limit women entrepreneurs' access to affordable and long-term financing.

The programme was unveiled as part of activities marking the Bank's fifth anniversary in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.

The initiative is expected to support about 1,000 women-owned and women-led businesses between 2026 and 2028 by providing easier access to financing through participating financial institutions under DBG's wholesale banking model.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Development Bank Ghana, Professor Randolph Nsor-Ambala, said the programme reflects the Bank's commitment to building a more inclusive financial system by addressing the specific challenges women entrepreneurs face in accessing credit.
