EOCO picks up Weija Children's Hospital contractor after meeting with Health Minister

The contractor responsible for the Weija Children's Hospital has been picked up by officials of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) following a meeting with the Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, over the delayed operationalisation of the facility.
According to information gathered by Channel One News, the contractor was invited to discuss the completion and handover of the hospital, which remains unused despite being structurally completed.
Sources indicate that the contractor declined to release the facility, insisting that the outstanding balance under the contract must first be settled or that the government provide firm assurances on when the remaining payment would be made.
Following the meeting, EOCO officials reportedly transported the contractor to the agency's headquarters. The circumstances surrounding the action have not yet been officially disclosed, and EOCO is yet to issue a statement on the matter.
