NPP CONSTITUENCY ELECTIONS: Members Demand Restoration Of Removed Names

Scores of aggrieved New Patriotic Party (NPP) members from the Ablekuma North, Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro, and Weija Gbawe constituencies have met party leaders at the party's national headquarters over allegations that their names were removed from the electoral roll ahead of constituency executive elections.
The meeting follows an Accra High Court injunction restraining the constituency executive elections in the three constituencies due to disputes over the voter register.
The aggrieved members accuse some constituency executives of deliberately removing the names of persons perceived to support rival candidates in an attempt to influence the outcome of the polls.
Speaking to Citi News, petitioner Mohammed Alabira said earlier complaints to the party received no response, compelling them to seek legal intervention.
The members are demanding the restoration of all affected names to the electoral roll before the elections proceed.
