KOFORIDUA CLEAN-UP: Households, Shop Owners Face Action Over Waste Offences

The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly says it will prosecute shop owners who failed to participate in the national cleanup exercise.
The Assembly has also warned households against handing over refuse to drug addicts and unauthorised waste handlers who dump garbage into gutters and open drains instead of approved disposal sites.
Speaking to Channel One News, New Juaben South Municipal Environmental Officer Emmanuel Tetteh said irresponsible waste disposal practices continue to undermine sanitation efforts in the municipality.
He warned that anyone found culpable will face enforcement action as authorities intensify efforts to improve waste management and protect public health.
