A few shops at Aboabo in the Asokore Mampong Municipality were forced to close after defying the directive for businesses to remain shut during the national sanitation exercise.

The Ghana Police Service intervened to enforce compliance, ordering shop owners who had opened their businesses to close.

The directive forms part of measures to ensure full participation in the clean-up exercise aimed at improving environmental sanitation, clearing waste, and supporting flood recovery efforts.

Authorities have urged residents, traders, and businesses to cooperate to make the exercise successful.
