US President Donald Trump declared the agreement pausing the war with Iran was over this week -- and ordered a series of strikes. He accused Iranian forces of violating the ceasefire by attacking ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran was quick to respond, targeting US interests in Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar. The escalation was the worst since the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding last month. It's meant to pave the way to more talks and a permanent deal to end the war. Now regional mediators are working to ease the tension. But does diplomacy stand a chance?
