Southern Spain wildfires: At least 12 dead as crews battle to contain blaze

A fast-moving wildfire in Spain's Almeria region has killed at least 12 people, with others missing, as crews struggle against steep terrain. Thick smoke has engulfed villages and authorities urged residents to shelter or use authorised evacuation routes; local officials said some victims are believed to be tourists, and four may be British, pending identification.
