ZOOMLION CONTRACT TERMINATION: Nitiwul Warns of Sanitation Crisis Without Proper Transition

The Chairman of Parliament's Committee on Assurances, Dominic Nitiwul, is urging government to reconsider its decision to terminate its contract with Zoomlion Ghana Limited, warning that the move could affect efforts to address Ghana's sanitation challenges.

The Bimbilla MP said Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) must first be adequately equipped and resourced before taking full responsibility for waste management.

Speaking during a sitting of the Committee on Assurances, Dominic Nitiwul cautioned that moving ahead with the transition without strengthening the capacity of assemblies could worsen sanitation problems across the country.

He called for a carefully planned approach to ensure effective waste management and improved environmental sanitation.
