Parliament Urges GIBA to Withdraw Lawsuit Over DTT Pricing Model

The Chairman of Parliament's Select Committee on Information and Communications, Abed-Nego Lamangin Bandim, has appealed to the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) to withdraw its legal action challenging the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) pricing model.
The call follows the submission of the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) Committee's final report to the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations.
The committee, which included representation from GIBA, was tasked with reviewing the DTT platform and developing a sustainable channel fee pricing and governance framework.
Speaking after the presentation of the report, Mr. Bandim urged GIBA to focus on supporting the implementation of the committee's recommendations, which he believes will promote a fair, transparent and sustainable DTT platform for broadcasters.
