The Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, says the Burma Camp Redevelopment Project goes beyond constructing buildings, describing it as an investment in the morale, welfare and operational readiness of military personnel.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony in Accra, he said providing better accommodation for soldiers is a strategic step towards strengthening Ghana's national security.

Mr. Brogya Genfi said government remains committed to improving military welfare through initiatives including the 10,000 Housing Units Programme and the Ghana Armed Forces Home Ownership Policy.

He also disclosed that the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has approved tax-deductible status for eligible contributions towards the Burma Camp Redevelopment Project, encouraging individuals, corporate organisations and institutions to support the initiative.
