The Ghana Prisons Service says it is intensifying efforts to modernise prison security as criminals adopt increasingly sophisticated methods to evade detection.
Speaking to journalists at the 13th Africa Security Symposium (ASEC) in Accra, Officer in Charge of the Canine Unit of the Ghana Prisons Service, Matilda Kpeli Mensah, said the symposium has provided officers with exposure to emerging technologies and security practices being implemented by prison services across Africa.
She explained that the knowledge gained from the engagement will help strengthen prison security systems and improve efforts to combat crime.
