Organisers of the 13th Africa Security Symposium (ASEC 2026) are calling for greater participation of women in Africa's security sector, arguing that the continent cannot build an inclusive security architecture without their full involvement.
Speaking to journalists, Director of Government Communications at Phynx Limited, Mohammed Ahmed, said women constitute nearly half of Africa's population and must therefore play a stronger role in shaping security policies and responses across the continent.
He stressed that increasing women's participation in security institutions and decision-making processes is essential to developing more effective and inclusive approaches to addressing Africa's security challenges.
