Nitiwul Warns Govt Over Zoomlion Contract Cancellation Amid Sanitation Crisis

The Chairman of Parliament's Committee on Assurances, Dominic Nitiwul, has advised government to reconsider its decision to terminate its contract with Zoomlion Ghana Limited, citing concerns over the country's sanitation challenges.

The Bimbilla MP said Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) must first have their capacity significantly strengthened before assuming full responsibility for waste management at the local level.

According to him, failure to properly manage the transition could worsen sanitation problems and increase the risk of flooding across the country.

Dominic Nitiwul made the comments during a sitting of Parliament's Committee on Assurances.
