GJA Gives NDC Central Regional Chairman 7 Days to Apologise Over Obaatanpa Radio Attack

The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has given the Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Richard Asiedu, a seven-day ultimatum to apologise and take responsibility for the alleged attack on journalists at Obaatanpa Radio.

The directive follows allegations that Mr. Asiedu attacked journalists at the station, leading to the temporary shutdown of the radio outlet.

Addressing a press conference in Accra, GJA President Albert Kwabena Dwumfour described the incident as an attack on press freedom and warned that the association will pursue legal action if its demands are not met within the stipulated period.

The GJA is demanding that Mr. Asiedu publicly acknowledge wrongdoing and issue an unqualified apology to Obaatanpa Radio and the affected journalists.
