The Swiss Ambassador has called for Ghana's ongoing constitutional review process to address what he describes as the excessive powers vested in the presidency.

Speaking on Eyewitness News, the Ambassador argued that strengthening constitutional checks and balances is essential to improving governance, accountability, and democratic institutions in Ghana.

He stressed that constitutional reforms should focus on creating a more balanced distribution of power while reinforcing the independence of key state institutions.

The comments come as discussions continue over proposed constitutional amendments aimed at strengthening Ghana's democratic framework.
