Government is far advanced in plans to provide birds to Members of Parliament to encourage poultry farming, Agriculture Minister Eric Opoku has announced.
The initiative forms part of the Nkokɔ Nkitinkiti programme, which is aimed at boosting local poultry production, supporting farmers, and reducing Ghana's reliance on imported poultry products.
The Agriculture Minister said the intervention will help promote backyard poultry farming and encourage more participation in the sector.
