The proposed introduction of tribunal courts has sparked debate over their role, purpose, and impact on Ghana's judicial system.

Former Okaikwei North MP Fuseini Issah questioned the need for public tribunals, citing concerns over the historical perception of tribunals and urging clarity on the challenges they are expected to address.

However, former National DRIP Coordinator Nii Lantey Vanderpuye defended the move, arguing that tribunals are constitutionally recognised and should be assessed based on their structure, purpose, and contribution to justice delivery.

The two former legislators also discussed the importance of public confidence, accountability, and protecting the legitimacy of Ghana's justice system.
