Agriculture Minister Eric Opoku has expressed concern over the immediate consumption of birds distributed to households under the government's backyard poultry farming intervention.
He urged beneficiaries to preserve and rear the birds to support efforts to expand local poultry production and improve food security.
The Minister said the success of the initiative depends on households using the birds for breeding and sustainable poultry farming rather than immediate consumption.
