President John Dramani Mahama says government is shifting its focus from introducing new taxes to improving revenue collection efficiency.

Following the removal of some taxes and adjustments to existing policies, the President said the priority is to build a more effective tax collection system that can increase government revenue while reducing the burden on citizens.

Speaking to the Kwahu Business Advocacy Group during a courtesy call at the Jubilee House, President Mahama said sustained improvements in revenue mobilisation could create room for government to consider reducing the corporate income tax to allow businesses to retain more capital for investment.
