The Minority in Parliament is demanding the immediate resignation or dismissal of the Attorney General and Minister for Justice, accusing him of incompetence over the reported withdrawal of GH¢350 million from the Contingency Fund to support victims of the recent Accra floods.

Addressing journalists, Deputy Minority Leader Patricia Appiagyei accused the Attorney General of failing to follow due legal process, arguing that with ongoing garnishee proceedings involving the Contingency Fund, steps should have been taken to set aside the order before authorising the release of the funds.

The Minority says bypassing the required legal procedures amounts to a breach and is calling on government to provide evidence to support claims that the GH¢350 million was withdrawn and allocated for flood relief efforts.

The development has sparked fresh debate over legal processes, emergency funding, and accountability in the management of public resources.
