NO MORE PATCHWORK: Government to Reconstruct Eastern Corridor Road with Asphalt

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has announced that the Eastern Corridor Road will undergo a full reconstruction into an asphaltic pavement, replacing plans for spot improvements on the existing surface-dressed road.
Speaking during an inspection of the 46-kilometre Dodo Pepesu–Nkwanta–Dambai Road rehabilitation project, being undertaken by Growth 82 Global Limited, the Minister said technical assessments show the road has exceeded its design life after more than a decade without major maintenance.
According to him, the full reconstruction will improve road safety, strengthen connectivity along the Eastern Corridor, and reduce the recurring maintenance costs associated with patch repairs.
