Justice Yonny Kulendi has defended the integrity of Ghana's judiciary, insisting that while there may be a few judges who engage in misconduct, many others continue to uphold the values of justice and fairness.
Speaking as part of activities marking the 150th anniversary celebration of the Supreme Court, Justice Kulendi rejected broad claims that judges are generally corrupt.
He noted that judges do not offer themselves bribes, arguing that corruption in the justice system often involves litigants who attempt to influence outcomes. He urged Ghanaians to resist and report attempts to compromise judicial officers rather than enabling such acts.
Justice Kulendi stressed the need to protect the credibility of the judiciary while ensuring that any misconduct is properly investigated and addressed.
