The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has disclosed that more than 6,000 applicants seeking to join Ghana's security services were disqualified after testing positive for illicit drugs.
According to the Minister, the drug screening formed part of measures to ensure that only qualified and fit candidates are recruited into the country's security agencies.
He stressed the importance of maintaining high standards within the security services, noting that recruitment processes must prioritize discipline, integrity and professionalism.
