Dominic Ayine Assures NPP: Tribunal Courts Will Not Target Political Opponents

The Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has assured the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that the proposed tribunal courts system will not be used to target any political party in the administration of justice.
His comments follow concerns raised by the Minority Caucus that the Tribunals Bill, 2026, could create an avenue for political victimisation and the arbitrary prosecution of opponents.
Addressing journalists, Dr. Ayine said the proposed tribunals will operate in a fair, transparent and constitutional manner, with procedures guided by the provisions of Ghana's Constitution.
He maintained that the objective of the bill is to strengthen justice delivery, complement existing courts and improve access to justice for Ghanaians.
