Indomie, Baked Beans Were Donations, Not Government Relief Items – Ayawaso Central MCE

The Municipal Chief Executive for Ayawaso Central, Rudolf Collingwoode-Williams, has dismissed claims that government distributed Indomie noodles and baked beans to victims of the June 29 floods through the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).

His comments follow allegations by the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, that NADMO distributed the items to flood victims in Nima and Accra New Town despite the release of funds for relief efforts.

Speaking to Citi News, the MCE clarified that while such food items may have reached some affected communities, they were donations from private organisations and individuals, not government-funded relief supplies.

He explained that donations received by the Assembly are coordinated through NADMO for distribution to affected residents, citing an example where Indomie Ghana provided cooked meals for flood victims.
