The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has announced that government will fully reconstruct the Eastern Corridor Road into an asphaltic pavement instead of undertaking temporary spot improvements on the existing surface-dressed road.
Speaking during an inspection of the 46-kilometre Dodo Pepesu–Nkwanta–Dambai Road rehabilitation project being executed by Growth 82 Global Limited, the Minister said technical assessments indicate that the road has exceeded its design life after more than a decade without major maintenance.
He explained that government has opted for a complete reconstruction of the corridor, including replacing sections of the road base where necessary, to create a stronger and more durable road network.
