Parliament Committee Slams Okudjeto Ablakwa Over Missed Accountability Meetings

Parliament's Committee on Assurances has criticised the Minister for Foreign Affairs for failing to appear before the committee on Tuesday and again at a subsequent sitting.
The committee expressed disappointment that the Minister had not acknowledged communications requesting his appearance to account for assurances he made on the floor of Parliament.
Speaking during the committee's sitting, the Chairman of the Committee on Assurances and Member of Parliament for Bimbilla warned that the committee would not tolerate attempts by ministers to evade accountability.
He stressed that ministers must respect parliamentary oversight processes and honour invitations to explain progress on commitments made to the House.
