The Ranking Member of Parliament's Committee on Assurances and Member of Parliament for Ejura Sekyeredumase, Muhammad Braimah Bawah, has called on ministers to demonstrate respect for the legislative arm of government by honouring invitations to appear before parliamentary committees.
According to him, ministers have a responsibility to account for assurances and commitments made on the floor of Parliament as part of strengthening oversight and promoting good governance.
His comments come after concerns raised by the Committee on Assurances over the failure of the Foreign Affairs Minister to appear before the committee to respond to requests for updates on assurances made to Parliament.
