Health Minister Explains Delay in Opening Weija Paediatric Hospital

The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, says the full complement of health workers is ready to commence work at the Weija Paediatric Hospital, but the facility is not yet complete for effective operations.
Answering questions on the floor of Parliament, the Health Minister explained that the hospital has not been officially handed over to the Ministry, delaying access to operational codes for some medical equipment from the contractor.
He assured Parliament that efforts are ongoing to complete the necessary processes and ensure the facility is fully operationalised to provide healthcare services.
