The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) says its legal team is reviewing a court order directing the freezing of the Assembly's assets over an outstanding debt of more than GH¢8 million owed to a private contractor.

Court bailiffs last week moved to attach KMA assets to enforce a Supreme Court ruling requiring the Assembly to pay Osbon Ventures over a 2007 contract involving waste management services and the acquisition of commercial properties.

Speaking on the development, Kumasi Mayor Richard Ofori-Agyemang Boadi said the Assembly is studying the court's decision and will determine its next course of action.

The matter has renewed discussions on financial obligations, legal compliance, and accountability in local government administration.
