US-Iran MoU ‘almost dead’ as analysts warn escalations risk wider war

US President Donald Trump says as far as he is concerned, the ceasefire with Iran is over. The president made the comments while speaking at the NATO summit in Ankara. He was addressing the media along with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

Ambassador Joey Hood, former senior US diplomat, and Ali Akbar Dareini, researcher at Tehran's Center for Strategic Studies, tell Al Jazeera the US-Iran memorandum of understanding (MoU) is “almost dead”, accusing each side of violating the deal and warning that current escalations could slide the region back towards a wider, hard‑to‑control war.
