The Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has criticised President **John Mahama's use of a helicopter to assess the destruction caused by the June 29, 2026 floods.
Speaking on the floor of Parliament, Afenyo-Markin said six communities within his constituency were submerged and cut off from neighbouring areas due to the flooding.
He questioned why the President had not visited affected residents directly to assess their challenges and engage with communities impacted by the disaster.
The Minority Leader expressed concern over the situation and called attention to the urgent needs of residents affected by the floods.
