The government has launched a nationwide sanitation campaign as part of its post-flood response, directing all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to mobilise residents for a Presidential Clean-Up Exercise.

The exercise is aimed at clearing drains, improving environmental sanitation, and reducing the risk of future flooding following the recent flood disasters.

The directive was issued by the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs during an emergency meeting with MMDCEs in the Greater Accra Region.

Authorities say the initiative will require active participation from communities as government intensifies efforts to address sanitation challenges and improve flood preparedness.
