The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana is urging government to introduce tax incentives and waivers for local pharmaceutical manufacturers to reduce production costs and make medicines more affordable.
Speaking after a meeting with the Ashanti Regional Minister in Kumasi, the Society's President, Paul Owusu Donkor, said tax relief on imported raw materials, machinery, and other production inputs would help local manufacturers expand their operations.
He added that supporting local pharmaceutical production will strengthen the sector, reduce costs, and improve access to affordable medicines for Ghanaians.
