The Accra High Court has set Friday, July 10, for the hearing of a habeas corpus application filed on behalf of former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food Buffer Stock Company, Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, over his continued detention.
His lawyer, Godfred Yeboah Dame, says the application seeks an order compelling the Director of the Bureau of National Intelligence (BNI) and the Attorney-General to produce Aludiba before the court and justify the legal basis for his detention.
The former Buffer Stock CEO was arrested by armed operatives at the Accra International Airport on July 4, 2026, while preparing to travel abroad for a court-approved medical trip.
Speaking on Eyewitness News, Dame argued that the hearing date is too far given the circumstances and disclosed that the legal team will seek an abridgement of time.
He also questioned the basis for the continued detention, arguing that authorities have neither charged his client in court nor filed any formal application to justify keeping him in custody.
