Egypt fans go wild in Cairo after historic World Cup win over Australia

Watch how thousands celebrated in Cairo as Egypt's national team made history by defeating Australia in the Round of 32, securing the country's first-ever FIFA World Cup knockout victory.

Egypt now faces three-time world champions Argentina in Atlanta on July 7.

There is some interesting World Cup history to note; when Italy defeated Australia in the Round of 16 in 2006, they went on to win the World Cup. When Argentina beat Australia in the Round of 16 in 2022, they also went on to lift the trophy.
