The Youth of Paga in the Upper East Region Call for Urgent Completion of Inland Port Project

The youth of Paga in the Upper East Region are appealing to government to expedite the completion of the proposed Paga Inland Port.

They warn that the increasing number of heavy-duty trucks parked along the main highway poses a serious threat to lives and property.

According to them, the road is frequently lined with trucks, forcing some drivers to park on a nearby airstrip due to the lack of a designated holding area. Many of these trucks transport hazardous materials, including fuel, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and other flammable substances.

Speaking to Channel One News, Chairman of the Paga Youth Movement, Wenawome Duriyem Aborah, expressed concern over the growing safety risks and called for urgent government intervention.
