The Ghana National Fire Service is urging factories and warehouse operators to strengthen fire safety measures following a major fire that destroyed the Melcom Ghana Central Warehouse in the Free Zones Enclave.
The blaze completely destroyed the warehouse and its contents, including forklifts, electric tricycles, pallet trucks, food items, and home appliances after it engulfed the facility on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
Speaking to Channel One News, a member of the GNFS Public Relations Team, ADO I Alex King Nartey, urged operators to procure essential firefighting equipment and ensure strict compliance with safety protocols to prevent future incidents.
