Economic activities along the Mampong–Ejura highway have been disrupted after the collapse of the Sataso Bridge in the Ashanti Region.

The bridge gave way following heavy rainfall despite ongoing reconstruction works, marking its second collapse in recent weeks. The closure has halted traffic and the movement of goods, affecting traders, farmers, and commuters along the corridor.

Speaking to Channel One News, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ejura-Sekyedumase, Rafiu Adam Seidu, says work is underway to restore the bridge and reopen the vital transport route as soon as possible.

Authorities are working to ensure the safety of users while urgent reconstruction efforts continue.
